The Board is comprised of not more than eleven members. The Board has the right to change the structure from time to time as required to meet its aims. Members are selected based on needs/skills required/lacking within the Board. Whenever possible, directors will have performed satisfactorily at the committee level for a period of at least one year prior to consideration of or placement on the Board. The Board will endeavour to have representation from all four regions (Bamfield, Port Alberni, Tofino and Ucluelet).

Meeting monthly, the Board:

• Develops annual and long-term plans and budgets.
• Reviews and sets portfolio procedures and policies.
• Develops and appoints new committees.
• Ratifies committee members.
• Ratifies the decision of the Executive Committee to hire the Executive Director.
• Provides a continuing liaison with the community representative through their groups.
• Develops organization policy and procedures.
• Provides fundraising support.
